The z axis is only moving down.

Welcome to the forum. Since there’s nkt much info on what machine, controler, software you use. I think a bit more info would help a lot for peeps to help you out.
If you have an altmill, maybe look at this page. It might contain some usefull information that can help you on track?

Thanks for the response. I have a altmill 4X4 using gsender. Just started the machine up all X & Y function properly. The Z on the other hand, when I go to jog up or down, the movement will only go down. I’ve check the wiring and the dip switches all match according to the documentation. At a loss as to what to check next.
Well, if it were a longmill, I would suggest to switch out the x axis and the z axis motor cables on the controller and check if the problem migrates to the x or stays on the z. But this is an altmill. I have never seen an alt other than on youtube. I wouldn’t want you to crash your machine or worse.
So I’ll suggest to open a ticket with sienci and have real knowledge help you out, or wait for an actual altmill owner to pick up your question and guide you towards chipping wood like a pro.
