1.5.6 spindle delay

I have the longmill MK1, with the original longboard, and a PWM spindle. I can’t seem to get the spindle delay to work. I know I can change the Post Prosseor, but it would be nice to use gsender to do it. Is that only available to grblhal?

having the same exact issue with my Altmill and also do not want to have to add it to my post processor as i work on a few different post processor and have many save files already that I want to use again with out having to regenerate that saved code on all of them as if I forget to resave one with the new command and run it, I am breaking bits.

@ozguzzi @Bubba00 When you say spindle delay, do you mean that you want to pause movement until the spindle spins up to speed?
What have you tried that did not work, @ozguzzi ?

The longmill is tore down at the moment ( I moved 1,000 miles ). Yes I want the spindle to get up to speed, then move to the cut. In the settings on gsender it seems to do nothing. It will work if I edit the PP.

Yes, I want it to pause at start up to give it time for the spindle to spin up to speed. I have gone into the gsender setting and put in 6 seconds in the spindle delay setting and verified it in the old firmware tab $392 that it shows 6 seconds also but when a job starts there is no delay only broken bits as it starts the cut before the bit gets to speed.

@Bubba00 Have you tried sending code in the “file start” function? There are discussions about this on the forum. I don’t have a spindle, so I have not tried this.
