Not sure I can explain how they update the spreadsheet I can tell you when I spoke to them last week they were waiting on wiring harness.
I do wish the guys would spend more time here in the forums.
Wish I could post a monthly YouTube update for my customers. lol.
Just in case anyone hasn’t seen the Oct. update, Andy chats about the AltMill at the start of this video.
Cheers,
Stephen
I checked the status update after catching up on replies to this post and noticed my ship date was moved from Jan 2025 to Nov 2024. Fingers crossed this isn’t just a glitch in the spreadsheet.
I suppose I need to tell my wife I ordered it. I was hoping an extravagant Christmas gift would position me for a new toy purchase.
Yes Jagfan
Definitely an extravagant gift is a called for.
You should get both the Laser and Vortex.
Still nothing - but orders listed after mine are showing completed.
Anybody know what it means when the Altmill order number is on a green background?
It used to be a white background and now there are some white backgrounds, some green backgrounds and some yellow/orange backgrounds.
Whitewolf - Congrats on your mill finally being ready !
My guess is these were units waiting on part shipment.
I’m not a great guesser though.
Jen what’s ur order no.
I’m 62915.
Thanks! Yeah, I saw it on the Order Status Page before I noticed the email. Super stoked. Now to make room lol.
63185 - I was thinking along the same lines as you but before I get too excited, I figured I would do a sanity check on the green background. It would be great news if, for the last 3 weeks while nothing was shipping, the elfs continued to build Altmills and now it’s just a matter of dropping wiring harnesses into the boxes, taping the boxes shut, slapping an address label on and calling the courier for pickup.
… exciting times !!!
This is pretty much what had happened. “Pretty much” might not mean that 50+ will ship this week but Customer Support (& the update) had stated that many AltMills were ready with exception to the delayed spindles and motor cables. I thought I had mentioned it here as well but maybe it was on FB.
I did not see this info here and I do not FB.
That’s some good intel whitewolf
Hey all,
Chatting with the team this morning, I can provide a bit of clarity on the green & yellow highlights.
If your order is highlighted in Green, our goal is to ship your order out in the next 2 weeks.
If your order is highlighted in Yellow, our goal is to ship your order out in the next 3-4 weeks.
The good news - We are shipping 35 AltMills this week!
The update - The spindle, a critical component of your powerful Altmill setup, encountered a last-minute issue during our quality control process. We identified a problem with the spindle’s inverter and immediately contacted our manufacturer to resolve it.
We sincerely apologize for this delay and understand it may cause some inconvenience. Rest assured, our engineering team is working diligently to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Thanks for your patience!
Thank you for the update!
Thank you Stephen for the update.
Much appreciated.
As opposed to that other company that just kept shipping until customers started finding the problems.
Hopefully, you meant quality control, but if you did mean quality assurance then there must be a bigger problem.
Good point @CrookedWoodTex, I’ve edited my post above.
Cheers,
Stephen
Stupid question time:
Looking at the Altmill status page, I see that there are a bunch of mills completed that are out of sequence. The one that really stands out is the last one that is completed. It has a January 2025 estimated shipping date, was ordered on Oct 3 and was declared ‘completed’ on Oct 3.
There are 9 mills that were processed out of order. What’s happening here?
Hello My name is Michael. I am looking at purchasing a Longmill or an Alt Mill. I can afford the Alt Mill, I know it is a better machine but just wondering why all of you are choosing the Alt Mill over the Longmill MK2.5? TIA
