Hey all, just ticking through the little bits and bobs of improvements to fine tune my altmill and I’ve come across threads about motor noise with solutions I’ve already tried.
My motors in the Y axis are misaligned and creating noise (I’m pretty sure it’s misaligned spiders) and I’ve read every solution thread and tip/trick page sienci has up and still no joy in fixing it.
I’ve changed the corner brackets in every configuration I can think of, I’ve loosened bearing blocks and shifted axis weight to settle parts, I’ve loosened the motor brackets to the legs and beaten the bejeezus out of them with a one pound rubber mallet like they owed me money. Lots of money..and still no joy.
Loosening the connector and releasing the motor from the plate shows that the motors on both sides are pretty decently out of alignment towards the center line of the machine.
My next step is a metal file and easing a chamfer on the inside edges of the mounting bracket.
Has anyone else encountered this issue?
