Bit setter from Oneinfinity

Does anyone know if the bit setter from Oneinfinity will work in Gsender?

Thanks,

Lyle

I wish you received an answer. I am on the fence and the only option I do not want to lose from the masso controller is the bit setter. The bit setter makes inlays so much simpler without fumbling with the touch block.

Well, the origional post asks a question about a 3th party product without providing links to its product page or a discription on what said product is supposed to do. This narrows down an answer from someone who might be able to help to a firm โ€œNoโ€ and leaves the question only answerable by someone who has successfully implemented the mystery device into the sienci universe.

I have put in more effort in the past, but am no longer willing to research posts that put in minimal effort so I can research if unknown product has the same unknown function using sienci products as it does with an unknown controller or unknown software from an unknown machine.

I wish people would trigger my interest a wee more so I can change a firm no into a maybe I can. Like the sliver you provided about it being way more easier to do inlays. Gosh.. I wish I could have more information about this without needing to leave this forum.

Yeah but no.

@Spamming_Eddie Thank you for the reply and you are 1000% correct.

When I create inlays using the masso controller bit setter it automatically sets the new bit height when the bit change (M6) is issued . The spindle is m The link to the products page is below:

From Masso documentation:

https://docs.masso.com.au/wiring-and-setup/touch-plate/how-tool-setter-works

If you need anymore information please let me know as I REALLY want to move off the Onefinity platform and into a community that does not silence their customers and actually provide actually support without reaching out to third party to assist with an issue.

I have been using the wrong search terms of bit setter and not tool setter. Once I changed the search criteria I see much more hits:

https://forum.sienci.com/search?q=tool%20setter

But a tool setter from Scienci would be a great addition since it will come along with their awesome support.

@sylthecru

Sienci includes a TLS with their ATC and they stated that they will sell it as a standalone item in the (near?) future.

I feared my reply might had come acros a bit harsh (I need to restrain myself to react while not having had my morning coffee.) Thanks for being a good sport.

My turn.

El chucko included a hint, I might have found a topic on that includes a wee more info for you to trail.

At least, itโ€™s my understanding the mystery product is essential a touch off plate, no?

It might be that macros have been written that make the slb do what is desired. I think the topic about a tool length setter for the rotary links to a page with macros for all kind of things. Maybe the solution is there, maybe the solution is already in gsender.

For that, someone using the atc might have more insights.

I did not see your post as agressive at all, actually you made a valid point so I added the details to get the conversation going.

I too have the masso touch off switch and it takes the place of the touch off plate as it is set to a position on the waste board and removes connecting a magnet and using a touch off block.

Hi Syl,

Iโ€™ve looked a wee into this tool setting thing and I believe gsender to be capable to work with the maso tool setter (though I cannot find the product in their webshop.)

It seems to be a simple nc or no switch that can be wired on the touch plate input.

Gsender manual has a manual on the tool change section including being able to select a tool setter as defaul. Found here:

Hope this helps a wee?

Disclaimer: I do not own abit setter or have ever used something simular nor do I ever use multiple tools in a single toolpath. Please know I might be waaaaaay of the mark.

@Spamming_Eddie this helps tremendously. I will look for another option besides the masso option. Time to order my AltMill and leave the other vendor behind.

I ordered a Bit Setter from Carbide3D Iโ€™m hoping to get it working with my Altmil via Gsender.

Not sure if Iโ€™m missing something but seems like a better deal to go with a RapidChange ATC Solo with the optical tool setter for only $30 more so you get both the tool setter and ability to change bits (manually) with no wrenches. But like I said maybe Iโ€™m missing something?
