Just received my LongMill MK2.5 yesterday, finished setting it up today and downloaded gsender then followed the instructions to the carriage in all directions, worked great until I turned the machine off to finish final adjustments of the wheels.
When I turned the LongMill back on and open gsender I get one of two error messages.
One error says to check here to unlock the machine and the other (randomly) says to Home the machine. I have no clue to how to do either. Sorry for my dumb question but I’ve never run a CNC Router before.
It’s been several months since I visited this forum, not for lack of interest but rather because everything has been working fine. I’ve made several guitars some of which have already been sold, but just today I ran into a brand-new problem that I can’t find a solution for.
Way back when I first purchased my Long Mill I also order a set of magnetic sensors to prevent overrun of machine limits. Life intervened and I never set them up, until now.
Today I followed all the instructions for setting the sensors, enabling the “Home” feature, setting hard and soft limits and all appeared to work as expected, that is until I tried to set the XYZ positions for my workpiece, only to discover that I couldn’t set the lower left XY and material surface for Z coordinates. The XYZ probe function no longer works.
I must be missing something in my interpretation of the instructions, but I can’t find anything wrong. Out of desperation I undid all the changes I had made only to find that my probe still refused to function.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.
I use the same block I’ve been using all along to set the locations but when I try to touch the block to confirm the connection it never sets to begin the probe. It does nothing.
