Keep getting “failed to copy commands to clipboard” How do I link my notepad++ to GSender?
@Xfilliancnc welcome to the group, Eric.
What is it that you are trying to copy to the clipboard/notepad++. I’m not aware of any way to “link” the two applications.
Ty Grant
the 3 dots at bottom right of console …copy last 50 lines
And it keeps saying error nothing copied
just wondering what is the purpose of this little feature if it doesn’t do anything
I thought there would be a way to link notepad ++ but apparently that’s not what it was developed to do
Ty for replying
Erick
@Xfilliancnc I’m sure that others may be able to help. I can’t duplicate your problem. I click on “copy last 50 lines”. I get a popup saying they were copied to the clipboard. I open notepad++ and click on paste and the lines are pasted into the document. There is no “link” to notepad++. It’s a simple copy and paste operation.
I also get the message ‘failed to copy commands to clipboard’.
@Xfilliancnc There is no linking of notepad++ to GSender. The clipboard is an intermediate MS Windows repository that is used to copy data between applications. Pasting text from the clipboard to Notepad++ is a completely separate and unrelated operation from Copying text to the Clipboard. It should just work. This message you are receiving feels to me like an issue with gSender.

Can anyone else get the copy to clipboard feature to work? Rob and I can’t get it
kinda annoying
Erick
@Xfilliancnc I’ve moved your question to the gSender question category so that the gSender group at Sienci will see it.
I’d maybe start with some commonalities for people having this issue - like operating system and version. I see one hint at Windows.
Haven’t seen any more activity around this one sir
any word ?
@Xfilliancnc The last that I have seen is @KGN post. I won’t hear anything before you do. I don’t work for Sienci.
I take from kevin’s post that it would help if you and @rblondeau could describe your environment. You seem to be the only two members who are having the problem.
For example, it would likely help to know what machine you have? Are you running grbl or grbl Hal in gSender? Are you running under Windows or another OS? What gSender version are you running?
Running a GRBL CONTROLLER on GControl panel
And which gSender version?
1.6.2 latest version
I was also on 1.6.2 but for some reason I can no longer reproduce the issue.
I can say though that I was previously having the issue when trying to copy the console to the Clipboard. I wasn’t in the gCode editor screen.
