I upgraded to GSender 1.4.12, and got a new, 2nd hand, computer. Everything migrated nicely, works almost great, BUT
My display numbers don’t say X0, Y0, Z0 on the location screen.
I see the change in the console when I hit the zero X button,
I know I’m at y-40, x24, because the blue numbers and the grey numbers say the same thing.
Aren’t the blue numbers supposed to give me the location from the zero I set?
(Yes, that was a rhetorical question, and I know you’re going to help)
Thanks!
Do you have a home sensor? Is the machine homed?
Just guessing that this might be related to not being homed …
No, I homed it first. moved Y exactly -40, X exactly 24. Set X. Set Y. Zeroed Z.
Ran a part to test it. X, Y, and Z were as I hoped, but the display did not show it.
Worked fine before I upgraded and moved to a better computer.
I should mention this is an ALTMILL, new as of February.
Works great.
Hmmm, don’t know … I homed my Altmill, moved x20 y40, zeroed x and y and my display shows x/y as 00 in the big blue numbers and 20/40 in the smaller gray numbers.
Sorry that I can’t help more.
As the good lords of GSender intended. Mine is acting out some juvenile angst.
Solved! By Kelly at Scienci Labs. I had connected to machine, without choosing grblHAL firmware. So it defaulted to grbl, which worked, but not completely. Here’s Kelly’s reply for future reference: 1. Make sure you always connect with grblHAL, not grbl (see picture attached). You can always check at the top left of your screen, under the COM port you used, if it says grblHAL or grbl.
2. On the Console on the bottom right of the screen, please enter $RST=$ then press Run. Turn OFF then ON your controller using the power slide toggle. Then reconnect (using grblHAL). This should restore your machine to default settings.
