Flat depth question/issue?

Hi all,

I am not sure if this is in the correct area for my question/issue.

I am working on a vcarve inlay in Aspire. My flat depth for the carve was set to 6mm as the project was made in mm. When I chose a post processor I mistakenly selected grbl inches. I typically build projects in inches. My machine is set up in gsender as inches.

The issue I had was the flat depth in the vcarve only went to about 4.75mm. If i build a project in mm is it a must to choose grbl mm and set the machine in gsender to mm as well?

I did check my movement calibration. On the X and Y i am within .0025ā€ on a 10 inch run. On the Z I am within .0012 on a 4 inch run. I had previously dialed in my steps pretty good I think.

@tresguey You can create in either units in Aspire and choose either post processor. I create in Imperial in VCarve because I’m old. I use the metric post processor because the gurus here explained that it will give better results. If your flat depth is off, you may want to look at some other setting.
