Gantry movement

I have jogged the spindle to the middle (left/right) position on the gantry and now I wish to move the gantry from the rear portion of the spoil board to the front of the spoil board without moving the spindle location. I find the motorY1 and Y2 do not move as one. Y1 moves only so far ..then I have I have to jog Y2 m

motor to catch up. This seems like something is wrong. What is a solution?

@Ttop If anyone is going to be able to help, you need to provide much more information.
1 what machine do you have?
2 what controller are you using?
3 if you are using gSender, what version? If not gSender, what?
4 is this a new issue or a new machine ?
5 if this is a new issue, what have you changed since it worked properly?
6 what have you done to remedy this so far?

@Ttop I’m not exactly sure what you are describing but double check the dip switch settings on the two motors. Obviously, they need to be the same, but they also need to use the correct configuration for the Y motors.

If they’re both OK, I’d suspect an alignment issue and one side is biding.

I have a new Altmil4x4 with a water cooled Genmitsu spindle. Running a windows 10 laptop 4gb ram 64 bit. Gsender 1.5.7. This is a new machine. The machine has never worked properly.
Problems are due to me being a new-Bee.

So far my remedy has been to read all articles from Sienci/and community support forums. I checked all wiring3 to 4 times between the SLB and the motors to confirm they are connected properly. I did sensor tests per Sienci directions. All sensors test good. I have run the homing program and the machine homes properly. I tried to surface the spoil board. That failed in error codes. Over the last week I spend time on the machine (driving it) to see how the jogging works and where it stops…just checking out the jogging arrows and the direction they represent. However when I watch the machine jogging I get the feeling the gantry runs on an angle (where the left side is ahead of the right side.and visa versa. It appears to bind upon its self. Resulting in error codes.

@Ttop Thanks for adding that info. I suggest that you open a support ticket with Sienci, if you haven’t already.

Did you ‘square’ the mill?
What error codes did you get when surfacing?

Sounds like one of your Y motors is not working. Been there - found the wires had come loose on the SLB.

When the unit is powered OFF you should be able to freely turn the motor couplers. When the machine is turned ON they should not turn easily. When my wire came loose one of the Y motors turned freely even when powered ON. Could be a connection, bad motor or maybe DIP switches set wrong?
