gSender 1.5.1 movement tuning units confusion

Default display is inches
Tools-Movement tuning tune X or Y, related issue in squaring tool
Step 2 of the wizard asks for distance to move in inches, and moves that distance
Step 3 asks distance moved in mm
When given the measurement in mm, it reports a huge error that appears to be (inch value minus mm value)

Sq tool shows the inches traveled as mm

If I ignore the “mm” prompt and enter the measured inches, the wizard accepts it and tells me x axis is tuned, no steps per mm error…

Update: given the mm/inch mixup, should I trust the eeprom update suggestions that are based on mm?

Last note, do your inch measurements in 32nds precision. 16th isn’t enough…

Sigh, freedom units for the fail!

Thanks for pointing this out @JPlocher we’ll work to get this fixed. It looks to me that the mm/inch discrepancy is almost fully coming down to that the units are written as mm on the UI but are actually being processed correctly as inch. In this case, I think if you ignore the notes of “mm” and continue as if it’s all inch then the results should be valid.

Anyway, this is a bug we’ll get sorted

@JPlocher We’ve fixed several bugs with unit conversion in the movement tuning tool on the latest version of gSender, v1.5.3. Could you update to that version, try it out and let me know if you are still experiencing conversion problems? Appreciate it!
