why can’t you use jog controls anymore during squaring?
I had found that if yoy use a v bit you can put a small divot in the spoilboard raise z move to the next position and lower z again. this proved to be much more accurate for me than making a mark.
@Shellshock welcome to the forum.
I do the same that same thing with a v-bit. As a workaround I would just go through the squaring routine to refresh my memory on the steps. Then do all the steps without running the tool, recording the information. Then run the tool and enter all your info.
Like I said, it’s just a workaround if you haven’t done it that way already. I hope the devs get it fixed for you.
Thanks Michael.
Seems strange to me to do this any other way than with a v bit. You can put your caliper points right in the mark!
I hope they fix this soon.
I agree it’s handy to do it that way. I just realized you could also just turn the Z lead screw to lower the bit. Make sure to raise it back up! When I do mine I turn the bit by hand anyway because I’m just trying to make a small mark.
I use a tape measure, not starting from the end, so my holes don’t need to be very large at all. I also find my laser super helpful for squaring and calibration but if you don’t have a laser it’s not an option, obviously.
Sorry about this @Shellshock, we missed putting it back in. We’ve got it noted down to re-add the jogging again to accommodate this
