When loading a Gcode from lightburn the vizualizer on shows a dark blob and not an image of what I am try to make. Is there a fix for this?
Can you attach a screenshot of what you see?
@JimBabcock24 FWIW, I just opened a gcode file exported from LB into gSender 1.5.6 and it came in as a solid red depiction of the project. When I ran the file, the red turned grey as it burned.
LightBurn knows that you are working on an image because you imported an image into it. All gSender knows about is the G-code you gave it. That G-code is, in my opinion, most likely a series of parallel raster lines. Each line would be composed of shorter lines that vary in power to create the shades of grey that make up the burnt image.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! At least until @LightBurnSupport says otherwise…
I think you’re on the right track here.
I gave some information above but I didn’t really answer your question. My answer is I don’t think there is a fix for this because gSender’s visualizer is about seeing machine moves and not what your final product will look like. gSender is primarily about machine control and the final product is the responsibility of design software. LightBurn does design and machine control so it has more pieces of the puzzle to play with as well as more responsibility when it comes to visualization.
For me the most valuable thing about gSender’s visualizer is verifying the job origin and scale prior to starting a job.
@JimBabcock24 you need to make sure you’re in ‘Laser mode’ by toggling into it on the Spindle/Laser tab at the bottom right. Once in that mode, any loaded files will be able to show you the colouring of the file you plan to run. If you don’t do this, then by default the file will just look like a series of parallel lines as @_Michael mentioned
