I recently bought my 2nd CNC Machine a few weeks ago

I am a disabled veteran and my wife two and we have a disabled daughter in the house also so money is tight.

My first CNC machine was a bobscnc which you have in your choice of machines too setup, but I recently purchased a new CNC machine that had great reviews on but is not in your options to choice from.

I purchased a Axiscreat A6060 which love so far, I had a lot of trouble with UGS which I thought was the best option for gcodes until I saw the video IDC Crafts did on GSender I was so impressed I downloaded it and tried it out it eliminated some of my problems, but still a couple issues which I think effect each other.

  1. There is no setup option for the Axiscreat 6060
  2. I have used the Z lobe option a couple times and it has never set my Z depth properly this machine comes with a Z probe setup on it already.

I am currently using the Generic option you have but it doesn’t seem to set the depth properly when using the Z probe.

I love GSender I wish I would have known about it years ago it is a great software.

Is there any possible way you can add my machine to your choices of machines and let me know how to set that up on GSender so I can have my machine setup properly.

Sincerely,

Mark Fannon, Sr.

@mefannon Hello Mark! Welcome to the group.

As far as I know the machine profiles are only used for determining default setting for a machine. They would be used if you wanted to reset to the default settings or flash firmware. Flashing firmware shouldn’t be something you have to do unless there is a newer version or you have a problem that leads you to believe your firmware is corrupt.

In the absence of defaults for your mill I would suggest using gSender to export settings so if anything happens you have a backup. It’s something we all should do if we have made any changes to the defaults for a machine. It would be hard for Sienci to have a profile for every machine but I wanted to let you know that, in my opinion, it’s not super important. When you switch to gSender, unless you flash needlessly, all of your firmware settings are read from EEPROM and you only need to setup gSender specific things. If you need the defaults for your mill you can usually find them on the manufacturers web site.

The touch probe is one of those things that does need to be setup. Have you selected the type of probe that you have and entered the appropriate dimensions? Make sure to hit ‘Apply Settings’ when your done.

You mention a Z probe. If it’s a Z only probe then you want Z Probe and only options for that type of probe will be shown.

Then in area that you do a probe from make sure the type you have is displayed. If the picture doesn’t resemble the probe you have it’s likely that the wrong type of probe is selected in the ‘Config’ section.

If you have already done those settings for your probe let us know but that’s the first thing that comes to mind for a new user of gSender.
