Removing the probe connector resulted in the light still being on?
Yes. I also removed the LED light strip and the aux power with the same result, the light remained on.

I had a similar problem occur with my Altmill and Gsender 1.5.7. Without attaching the magnet, the continuity test would indicate there was continuity. I reported this to Sienci and they had me go through several trouble shooting steps. At the end the problem persisted and they sent me a new SLB-EXT.
Thank for your reply. I was thinking it might be the same thing so yesterday I submitted a ticket to the help site, I’ll see what I find out.

Hey Jim, were you able to get this resolved? I’m having the same issue with the probe LED lit even when the probe isn’t connected. Cant use the probe because it’s already detecting continuity.
Nevermind. I was able to get my issue resolved with some help from support. I needed to have probe inverted and toolsetter enabled. Did that, reset the controller now all is well. Just posting this in case someone else runs into this issue.
Mine is still not working. What do you mean by " Inverting the probe"? Sounds like something I need to try.

I just set mine up and I followed what it says here but it failed to mention to change the two other settings. Make sure your “Probe” config looks like mine below (had to check the “Probe” and “Toolsetter” switch to the on position):
