Issue with Continuous jogging starting in 1.5.0 and even 1.6.0 Edge

The main Issue I am having and is very frustrating is jogging. I can jog normally in the + directions but in all the - directions I have to constantly tap the mouse button for it to move and it doesnt always work. I am running windows 10 on a bootcamp partition on a MacBook pro. I tried to use lightweight mode to no avail as well. I am confused as to why I keep having this issue. I am leaning toward something in my computer causing it since its every version since edge 1.3.10 . I also do not see where i can “precise” jog either, my display is set to 2560X1600 with recommended 200% zoom. I hope you can give me a hand to get this bug squashed. Last version of edge i have been able to use successfully is 1.3.10 Every update since then has had issues bad enough that it is unusable.

Jog buttons only work when actually clicking with mouse. Cannot hold down mouse button for continuous movement.

Just downloaded and started playing around with this version. Been on 1.3.10 as that is the last version that works properly on my computer for some reason. All jogging in the - direction does not work unless i constantly tap on the jog button. no version since 1.3.10 edge or regular g sender works as it should on my computer. its always been the same issue, so I have to wonder if it is something with my computer. help would be appreciated.

@Cmcustom Are you running windows on your PC? If so, is it 32bit or 64bit?

yes, windows 10 on my MacBook Pro (Bootcamp) 64 bit

@Cmcustom Ah, bringing Mac into it disqualifies me from helping at all. I do think it’s fair to say that your issue has something to do with your computer or its setup. Thousands are running more recent versions of gSender than 1.3.10 without jogging issues.
Have you opened a support ticket with Sienci? If you have not, you may want to.

@gwilki Not yet. I do know that im due for a new computer, because this one cant run windows 11, so my next one wont be a Mac. I use all windows programs now anyway. But I did message Chris on here as we have discussed this briefly in the past, but never got around to investigating it further.

@Cmcustom Might be worthwhile to start your own thread for this issue? Anyways, jogging with a touch screen, mouse, or keyboard is giving you problems? Using the keyboard uses keyboard shortcuts as opposed to using the mouse/touchscreen to press the buttons.

@Cmcustom I had missed that you were running Edge. That could be part of your problem. Edge is beta. There will be bugs. What versions of gSender have you tried?

@gwilki I use a mouse. Idont remember what the last version of g sender was that i used, but i like to stick with edge so all my projects stats and recent jobs all stay with it

@Cmcustom That makes perfect sense. In case you don’t know this, you can run both Edge and gSender on the same PC. So, if you wanted to try gSender, I don’t beleive that you would lose your Edge stats. If you do decide to do that, don’t take my word for it. I know that you can run Edge and gSender. It would be worth a call to Sienci to confirm that your Edge-related stats are safe.

Good morning,

Not sure if I can be of any help here, just in case you’re not aware GSender has a Mac version. I would try the Mac version this would eliminate any communication issues with Windows, Boot Camp and who knows what else. Best of luck!

I use Vectric software, so for me to have to swap back and forth would be a nightmare scenario

Makes sense, you could try it to see if it eliminates the problem. It might give you some answers

If you do, please let me know if it works. I a Mac user also I just moved and am setting up my shop. I haven’t used my CNC for a while, the info might be helpful.

Thanks!
