Using 1,62 and latest firmware, Place values in offset boxes. When switch to laser and PWM the setup returns to where I started with spindle, not to where offset values should adjust to laser location. Any thoughts ??

I’m seeing the expected behaviour on the latest grblHAL release. I’d need to know a bit more about your setup and specific board/firmware version (latest version for EXT is 20260525). You can see firmware version in the machine information dropdown:
On the SLB-ext running the above release, confirming that $770 and $771 are set in config:
Swapping from PWM (main spindle) to PWM2 (laser) correctly updates the offsets - I’m able to set zero point, swap to laser, then go to XY 0 and start the job. Offsets are handled on the firmware side entirely without gSender intervention as you can see in the console - we just send the spindle selection command and refresh the list.
Similarly, swapping back to regular spindle, the firmware is again correctly offsetting:
Things to share/double check on your end:
- Which specific version of the firmware are you running - “latest” doesn’t help. The first new grblHAL release we did did not include laser offsets.
- Double-check that you applied the offsets and not just entered them.
- Confirm $772 is set to 0 (otherwise G92 is altered which would result in the offset seemingly not changing from your perspective):
