Lost power, lost gSender

I’m brand new with this gControler and only just put my altmill 4X4 together last week. I started up gSender in the controller and everything seemed to be working fine until I lost power after running the surfacing tool setup. I got the surface of my waste boards done and while the altmill was heading home I lost power to the house and shed. Now gSender won’t start up. I just get the logo up and nothing else.

Just would like to know has this happened to anyone and how did you fix it. I’ve followed documentation to remove the .sender_rc file. That didn’t work, nor did Uninstaller and re install gSender work.

The power up sequence seems to matter…

  1. power up the Spindle/VFD, give it a few tens of seconds to initialize…
  2. power up the SLB-EXT, press/release E-Stop interlock
  3. power up the gControl system

The SLB-EXT has issues if it is configured to use a VFD, but the VFD doesn’t respond immediately (because it is off or hasn’t finished initializing)

If you have a gSender hang after everything is powered up, try:

  1. Kill (^C, QUIT or Force Quit if needed) gSender on the gControl
  2. power cycle the SLB-EXT (force it to re-connect to the VFD/Spindle)
  3. Press in and release the E-Stop button (safety interlock…)
  4. wait 8-10 seconds for the SLB-EXT to finish resetting
  5. click on gSender on the gControl to restart the program
  6. gSender should start and show an “ALARM / click to reset” notice and all should be well

Since you have the gControl panel you can also use the .bat file mentioned in this article Unable to Load gSender (Blank Screen) OR Download Diagnostics – Sienci Labs to automatically rename the files (an alternative to deleting the sender_rc file)
