Just got my new Altmill 4x4 in over the weekend and got it assembled. Went together smoothly and seems to be functioning with the basic first movements great. My spindle won’t be here till tomorrow though, so was testing getting my probes setup.
I ordered the Auto Zero touch probe, as well as the TLS. The AZ probe seems to be working correctly, but when I attempt to setup the TLS, by setting the TLS to inverted off (grey slider), the Probe icon stays red. Only way to disable it is to set TLS back to on/blue slider. No matter which way it is set, pressing the button doesn’t change the status though either.
Gsender 1.6.3 version, with the latest SLB-EXT firmware loaded after I ran into the inital issues. Also did a set defaults in gsender, with no change.
Luckily, this isn’t something that’s going to stop me being able to use the machine, since the touch plate does appear to be working as long as the TLS isn’t configured.
I did send a support request last night, but wanted to reach out here, incase its something silly I’m just missing. Thanks!
Have you tried going through the accessory setup wizard for the TLS? Instead of manually changing the settings. This page shows where you can find it: Tool Length Sensor - Add-ons
I’m not sure, I will try that regardless. My spindle just came in so the break in cycle is running at the moment. I was following the resource guide and YouTube video on the setup.
I just send Danial with support a video as well, so I will try to tool setup here in a bit. Thanks!!!
I went through the setup wizard for the TLS, and got the following error.
After exiting the wizard, it set the probe and tls switches, as my screenshot shows. When TLS is greyed off, the Green Probe stays lit, no matter if the Probe and or TLS are connected or disconnected. It is almost as if something on the SLB is shorting out the TLS port.
Spoke with Danial again in support, we confirmed the board is showing the correct value when shorting out the pins on the board with the TLS led lighting up. So the TLS itself is faulty so is replacing it.
