Recommended feed/speed for Extra Long Roughing bit

Hello,

I am interested in any recommended starting point for feed and speed rate for the Extra Long Roughing Bit sold here:

For use with the Altmill, hardwood like oak or maple. With 3 flutes should I really just send it at 1.5x the feed rate of a normal 2-flute bit for the same chip load?

If you go to the page you have Linked and scroll down, you will find other links. Go to
FAQs—> Recommended Feeds & Speeds Chart

There is also another informative page Feed and Speed Help Tips
If it doesn’t cover length in the chart then I would go for conservative feed rates, better to take an hour longer on your part than to break a bit…. at least until you start optimising the feeds and speeds for it.

Usual preface, I’m with PreciseBits. So while I try to only post general information take everything I say with the understanding that I have a bias.

I went into it a couple times. Short version it get’s complicated due to the stickout of the tool (amount “sticking out” of the collet). If you want my best guesses and why:

Shorter summery:

Hope that’s useful. Let me know if there’s something I can help with.

Thank you @TDA , this is the sort of info I am looking for. I’ll take some time to go through it and digest, and let you know what I end up with, or if I still have questions.
