on step two, if I click on mark and then jog z down to make a mark on tape, it goes instead in the -x direction. 1.6.2 on Macbook air using older long mill with SLB. works correctly if I jog z first then click mark.
Also Gender used to keep my computer awake, but I have to wake it up a lot now.

We tried reproducing the issue but were unable to see the same behavior. The Z-axis jogs correctly whether we:
Click Mark and then jog the Z-axis down, or
Jog the Z-axis first and then click Mark.
Could you provide a few more details about your setup and the exact steps you followed?
How are you performing the jog operation?
Are you using the on-screen jog controls, a gamepad, or keyboard shortcuts?
Does the issue occur consistently, or only under specific conditions?
Any additional information that could help us reproduce the problem would be appreciated.
You could always use something like https://www.caffeine-app.net to prevent sleeping. I noticed when mine unexpectedly goes to sleep it stopped running the program but did keep the spindle spinning. When I wake it back up it does continue on with the program.
I believe the option to allow/prevent sleeping was added in the latest release of gSender. And I think it is enabled by default when you upgrade. It was on mine anyways.
āBlankingā was added as an option in I believe 1.6.1. āSleepingā is an entirely different animal. Blanking only stops the output of a video signal but does not put the computer into a power saving mode where a number of process are either halted or are severely slowed down. You will never want to put a computer to sleep that is running any kind of machinery.
As far as I know, gSender specifically disables sleeping but added blanking on my request for that feature.
That doesnāt appear to be the case since mine went to sleep and left the spindle frozen but still spinning. When I woke the computer back up it then continued with rest of program. This is on macOS.
My bad ā¦ I just assumed we are talking Winblows machine ā¦ I have no idea what Apple does since I have a strict rule of no Apple devices in my house.
Ha.. I have opposite rule 
Though I make an exception if there is no choice.
