Spindle motor cable got hung up ... need some help

The motor cable got hang up and when I came down in the Z Axis, it ripped out 3 of the 4 wires.
Does anyone know what pins I need to solder them back too?
I reached out the Sienci but had a big project I was working on this weekend and was hoping to get the beast up and running asap.

Hey Jdaubs,

At least you have your ground still connected.
You have days and you have days like this, ey.

As far as I can see, the gnd is at pin 4

The other wires are found at the U V and W possition.

(Screenshot came from this sienci manual page)

I have looked at some different brands and most (concerning word here) are wired like below.
U=1
V=2
W=3
Gnd=4

So, if you can confirm your ground is at pin 4, I’m pretty sure you can figure out what color goes where looking at what wire is the U, V, W in your VFD.

I found one ocasion that had the gnd at pin 1. Again, lucky you have the gnd wire still connected.

LOL, I’m thinking it’s the ground too and yes, it is on 4. I’ve been looking up pics online as well. And looking at the orientation of the wires coming out I’m95% sure I know how it goes back together. It’s that other 5% that’s holding me back. Haha.
Thanks for your help.

Oh the yellow/green is the gnd wire for sure. So if its on 4 uvw go on 123
Just make sure you look at what color goes with what letter at the vfd.
(If you get uv mixed, the spindle will run backwards.)

Maybe @chrismakesstuff can make a quick visit and confirm. He knows this top of head.

Just checked, it is on 4. So I’m feeling 99% now.
I’ll take a picture before I put it back together. That way WHEN “gulp” it works maybe it’ll help someone else.

I can’t give 100% certain advice since all spindle are different, but I wrote this as a general guide

Reading between the lines in the op, I believe jdaubs has the sienci spindle. Looking at his earlier post, I can juuuuust make out the sienci logo on the spindle. So unless sienci is the odd one out, jdaubs is good to go, no?

Ps look at that fancy magnetic dust shoe design! :star_struck:

The Beast is up and running. I can confirm the wiring for mine is as follows.

  1. Yellow
  2. Blue
  3. Red (Power)
  4. Yellow Green (Ground)

If your spindle spins in reverse. Just swap your blue and yellow wire or the U & V positions

Thanks for your help!
