Just started getting E.OC error. The spindle shuts down but the gantry continues to move, I have broken 4 bits over the last week. It doesn’t happen all the time and there is no warning when it is about to happen. Has anyone else experienced this? I would appreciate any suggestions to correct this . I can’t afford to keep braking brand new bits. Thank you for any assistance.
@Woodjockey Welcome to the group Dennis.
More info, please.
- What CNC are you running?
- What spindle are you using?
- When do you get this error - at the start of the project, etc?
- What CAM program are you using to generate the gcode?
- Does it do this with different files or just one?
Thank you for your fast response. I’m running an altmill mk2 with a spindle (1.5?). I use vcarve pro and gender. The error occurs on different programs but it doesn’t happen on every program. It just started happening about a week ago.
@Woodjockey I know nothing about spindles, but a quick duckduck search on that error brought up lots of hits. It seems like it is an over current error and MAY spell a bad spindle. I would open a support ticket with Sienci.
Thank you very much for your help, I will take your advice and contact Sienci Labs.
@Woodjockey Please report back when your issues is solved, Dennis. It may help someone in the future.
I certainly will. Thank you again for your help.
Sienci Labs has been looking into my over current issue. While the actual root cause has not been determined they are sending me replacement spindle and VFD. I am happy with this solution. Jason Kent from the customer service team has been extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Sienci Labs continues to impress me.
