as i tap the mouse to bring down the spindle Z it gets about an inch from the surface then you no longer control, you tap the mouse to get closer and it will take off and keep going and bash into the wood… this is keeping me from using edge so far…

Yep, seeing this as well. Input lag/debounce on jog is … troublesome. This issue motivated me to finally get my probe set up again
