When setting material Z with the paper method spindle takes off and bashes the board,

gSender Edge 8
as i tap the mouse to bring down the spindle Z it gets about an inch from the surface then you no longer control, you tap the mouse to get closer and it will take off and keep going and bash into the wood… this is keeping me from using edge so far…

Yep, seeing this as well. Input lag/debounce on jog is … troublesome. This issue motivated me to finally get my probe set up again :stuck_out_tongue:

@AndyV @drilling-vagueness I saw some feedback several days ago about how the ‘Rapid’ jog preset is really close to the Z jogging button to move downward and they realized they were accidentally clicking it while jogging down which cause really large jog movements, perhaps that’s what you’re experiencing too? In either case, Edge has since been released to main and is now 1.5.3 since you posted this, are you still seeing this behaviour or would if be safe to close this now?

Thanks for checking in @chrismakesstuff! The issue I have been experiencing has been more to do with inconsistent lag (e.g., queue length seems to change) from input to machine movement rather than accidentally switching jog movement rates. I have been taking a break to work on another related project but I see edge is out and I’ll check it when I have a moment.
