I wanted to attach a video, but I’m restricted as a new member. I hear a rotational noise that I think is coming from the ball screw bearing block on the motor side of the X axis. Is this a known issue?
If it sounds like a creaking, I had the same thing. I found the bearing block to not be in line with the motor shaft. While running the motor I barely loosened the screws holding the bearing block th release the tension. Once the noise went away, I then retightened the screws securing the bearing block. I confirmed the bearing preload was correct at 130kg*cm as per Jason at Sienci and all is quiet now. I had to do the same to my left Y axis motor too but that was due to the bearing preload nut coming loose and I found that during a maintenance check.
I think it sounds like a creaking. How do you check the bearing preload?
You will only have to check preload if you loosen the bearing block from the gantry. If you’re not 100% certain then you could always open a ticket with Sienci. They’re super helpful and loading pics and videos is required for troubleshooting purposes. They can probably give you step be step on how to correct your issue.
It turns out the motor coupler had separated and was rubbing on the bearing block. Jason from Sienci saw it in the video I sent in with the ticket. I loosened the screw side of the motor coupler and compressed it back together sand retightened.
Noise gone!!
Thank you!!
