Y1 Motor fault tripping, but can't find fault

I have a 4x4 Altmill

I’m having an issue with the Y1 motor.

It immediately trips an error when I try to jog with it or print.

I tried swapping the Y2 and Y1 cables to see if the issue moved, and it did, after switching the issue now read as being a Y2 fault. So that narrowed it down to being the Y1 cables or the Y1 stepper motor.

I then used a multimeter to check to make sure each cable for continuity, and each does, so I don’t think it’s an issue with the wiring harness. I also tightened up each end that had an adjustment screw to be sure, but it had no effect.

That leaves the stepper motor. This machine only has a few hours of run time on it, so It’d be hard to believe that the stepper motor has already gone bad, but maybe we got a faulty one?

Has anyone else had similar issues? Anything else I can check?

I also just tried swapping the the Y1 and Y2 stepper motor and even on the Y2 wiring harness, the same Y1 motor tripped a fault (now shown on Y2)

So it must be this stepper motor thats bad?

@Melvin Another issue could be with the board. But your latest test would suggest the motor. Maybe move it to X for confirmation.

What’s the error/fault code?

Also make sure the dip switches are all set correctly for their axis.
