So I did a full reset of the defaults in config.
Closed gsender, restarted everything.
Homed machine. Zeroâd everything.
When I typed in my typical X/Y coordinates to send the machine to my usual touch point spot. It immediately threw an Alarm 2. (43 x -583).
Closed the alarm, re-homed.
Sent it to the same coordinates⊠worked fine.
And this time the touch plate worked completely fineâŠ
w. t. f. ?
Really? Thatâs crazy⊠Itâs always worked pretty bang on except for the time I had the wrong corner set ![]()
@reidcustoms it works if I start at x45. It fails if I start at x42. So somewhere between 42 and 45 would be my guess.
ok that makes pretty good sense cause i usually type in my zeroing coordinates after i home/zero at 43
This time i was just manually jogging and was around 40ish so that must be it!
Good to know it wasnât me for a change!!!
@reidcustoms create a new post under the gSender bugs section and reference this ticket. It works at x43.5 so the sweet spot is somewhere below that.
@reidcustoms And when did you upgrade to 1.5.7 and is this your first zero off that corner since the upgrade. If not your first zero, maybe you were above the 43.5mm starting point.
just checked looks like im still on 1.5.4
Identified the other night.
If you home / zero machine. And try and use the auto touch plate where the X is somewhere under 43.5 it throws an Alarm and fails after checking Z.
See this thread for more information and where we confirmed the results were reproducable:
So I changed my spoil board over the weekend, and Iâm closer on the Y axis now and itâs throwing the same alarm in the same way⊠assuming it is the same issue.
When my Y starts at like -598 it works on the XY no problem, if i start it somewhere below -600 it throws an alarm 2⊠Iâve reported the bug on the X will update the ticket for Y.
itâs somewhere between -608 (fails) and -602 (works).
Itâs a pain cause I want to zero off that left hand corner and -602 doesnât get me over the zero point of the auto touch plate so i have to do an X/Y and then a Z height.
I donât want to keep testing coordinates but basically sometime shortly after -603 on the Y if you initiate a XYZ auto probe, the machine throws an Alarm 2 when trying to zero the Y axis for the first time.
@reidcustoms if you donât mind I combined your two topics together. Reading through what youâve posted, the behaviour looks expected to me since for the AutoZero when using the âAutoâ setting it aims to move outwards an initial 13mm movement plus 30mm more while itâs waiting to contact the wall, so that would equal the 43mm number youâve arrived at. Because of this, and because this number hasnât ever really changed (except a year ago when it used to be 63mm), Iâm not really sure why you werenât seeing it before and began seeing it now, other than perhaps youâd set your soft limit numbers a little higher than the machine itself so that it wasnât triggering before.
Now with all that said, weâve discussed adding logic so that for things like probing it will never trigger the soft limits in the X and Y (weâve already added this logic to the Z), so if itâs alright by you I may turn this thread into a âFeature requestâ thread and then we can get back to you once itâs something weâve gotten into gSender.
In the meantime though, if you have any other confusion or questions itâs fine if you want to keep posting and troubleshooting here
