I get error code 14 often. Not during a run but on start up and during tool change and material changes, any idea what that error message means why i seem to get it so often. I think its spindle at time out… but im not sure what that means.
Thanks
Hi Hemlock,
You can find the alarm/error list on the lage below. What error 14 means is above my paygrade, but maybe you can figure it out, knowing what your machine is trying to communicate. So here ya go.
Thanks, I’ll check it out
Hey Hemlock 30, I’m having the same issue with my MK 2.5 w/senci spindle, except I haven’t ran the spindle yet. Just putting the machine together. Did you happen to find out what error 14 “Line length exceeded Build info or startup line exceeded EEPROM line length limit. Line not stored” and how to fix?
Thanks!
Better, but im not sure its solved. I tried the following:
FROM altmill resources
On the gSender Firmware Tool, you can try increasing the $340 ‘ Spindle at speed tolerance’ to 100 and the $392 ‘Spindle on delay’ firmware setting to 12. These should increase the allowable time for the spindle to spin up before triggering an error.
- If the above does not solve the issue, a workaround would be to use MODVFD as the default spindle. This should work for spindles that communicate using RS485, such as the Sienci Labs Spindle (H-100), Huanyang, Durapulse, and Yalang.
I havent tried switching to MODVFD. Im hding off on that until I’ve exhausted all other avenues or I get super frustrated .
FYI, I’ve never had Alarm 14 interupted a run. Good Luck.
Thank you! I will give this a try!
I just got my AltMill and am getting error 14 on start up. I’ve searched through what I can, and can’t seem to get my spindle spinning. Has anyone else had this problem since this thread or figured out a way to get it fixed.
All I can find on the Sienci website is the name of the code but no suggested fixes.
The error code is “spindle at speed timeout. Clear before continuing.”
Here’s a list with topics about error 14. I saw one with a solution regarding having to turn on slb and spindle in a certain order. Goi g to find that one and link it here shortly.

May e your error 14 can be solved this way and if not, browse the other topics for other possible solutions.
Thanks for this. I went through everything again, and I think one of the connections had come loose - just following those steps again, unplugging everything and redoing it seems to have done the trick. Really appreciate the quick response, it was really helpful.
