Running gsender 1.6.0-Edge-4 and trying to use sd card. I get error 60 sd card mount failed. Brand new SanDisk 32 GB and it is a fat 32 format. Any settings or information would be helpfull.
I did an AI google search on this. I’m not sure if it will be helpful:
“Error 60 on an AltMill CNC (grblHAL/FluidNC) indicates the SD card cannot be mounted. Fix it by formatting the card to FAT32, using a card $\le$32GB, or re-seating it while powering down. Ensure the card is inserted properly, try a different SD card, or use the $fm command in the console to manually mount.”
Tried all expect a new sd card. Nothing yet.
I once had a problem with a SD card when transferring files, I changed the format and it worked. I know the recommended format is FAT32 but how about trying the other formats exFAT and NFTS. If using a computer to format it select quick format. Also make sure your SD card is not locked (a little slider tab on the card itself). Otherwise I am sorry, that is all I have.
Tried all 3 format types with no result. Also tries a new sd card and still get error 60.
If anyone from sienci is seeing this maybe you have some ideas.
@WillW what firmware are you running on your machine? We’ve run into some instances of SD cards not wanting to play nice that we’re still trying to discover why (some brands don’t seem to like working) and we’ve also made some changes to the new grblHAL firmware we’ve been working on to make SD card mounting more reliable
1.1f.20230917. New SanDisk 32 GB micro
Ah ok, so then this is very much the same issue we’ve seen because it’s also with a SanDisk 32GB micro SD. We believe this is because for large SanDisk cards (SDHC/SDXC territory) they’ve started to phase out 1 bit SPI support and only use SDIO to serve customers with high performance requirements, which means that the SLB can no longer communicate with them. The fix is either trying a card with a reduced capacity (like 8GB or so) or another card brand.
@WillW not sure if you want to keep this topic open if you have further questions or are waiting to try another SD card, otherwise I can just close
I think you can close it. Have not be able to try a different card.
