gSender - Spindle won't spin after emergency stop

I just installed a new ER20 1.5 Kw spindle on my Longmill MK2.5 replacing the router. I read completely through (many times) all instructions under Help & Resources, and I pulled up a couple of Sienci YouTube videos on the subject. I updated all gSender config settings (BTW, I couldn’t download the Google Drive gcode file due to access rights). First issue was that when I first tried a test run, the spindle didn’t spin up completely prior to starting the job and got bound up in the wood. I validated that the $392 setting was correct and even tried to increase it. I was never able to fix this issue. After a couple more emergency stops, my spindle will not power on at all. Additionally, min and max speeds and Spindle section settings keep changing. Any ideas? What steps would you recommend I take to work through these issues?

Update: Each time I try to start the spindle (manually or as part of a job), I immediately get Error 14. “Spindle at speed timeout”. After some research, this is possibly due to the VFD isn’t connected to the SLB. I’ve checked the connections and all looks good. When I select the stop button on the Spindle tab, I also get Error 1. “Expected a command letter”.

Hai Don,

I know litteraly nothing about spindles, vfds and errors relating those, apart from reading topics here on this here forum. It gets a lot of mentions that the vfd and slb have a turn on sequence. Vfd before slb, I believe.

You do this?

If yes, ignore my ignorance.

Anyhoo, here’s a topic I found mentioning this.. with me in it.whadayouknow, can’t seem to not answer these questions I know nothing about, ey?

Eddie,

Thanks. I have gone through the sequence a few times but just did it again, Same issues. I also appreciate the links and I’ve gone through those. Seems the most likely cause is a bad wire connection. I’ll attempt to remove and check the continuity of each.
