So I never used different workspace, I only ever used g54, but, I just saw a video where selecting a new zero coordinate might be helpful.
So I tried selecting g55, but it seems that the selector top right jumps to g54, even though in the console and or zero works as expected.
So that would be very bad and confusing not knowing on what workspace I am.
Just me?
I use that function all the time in 1.2.2, but that version is ancient history now. (I have various fixtures located within each workspace.)
What version are you using?
Iām on 1.4.5
Hereās some text to fill the minimum of 20 caracters needed
Nothing on this yet? Not even a, weāre looking at it?
I donāt know if some of my long-winded verbage about my workspace management will help, but here it is.
If I remember correctly, there were problems in the software before 1.2.2, where the indicator etc. on screen would default back to P1 (G54) after every program stop. They fixed that to my knowledge. Perhaps it snuck back in?
Weāve looked at it and arenāt experiencing the same thing as you - workspace selection is working as expected. Do you see the G5X command sent in the console when selecting a new workspace? What does $G report as the current workspace modal? I seem to remember you running on non-standard GRBL so there might be some differences there.
i do see it changing in the console, itās only the selector top right that stays on g54 no matter what i select
also, iām not sure how the board and itās firmware could affect the software
Here i recorded a short video, please let me know if i have to do something to fix it. Follow my mouse ā¦
i forgot to mention, i believe the board has GRBL 1.1
Me too. Just upgraded today to 1.4.8. Expect that to fix the bug. Error persists. Same as juliancalinās video. Iām on Windows 10, 64bit.
Yes shows correctly in lower right console window. NOT in upper right āWorkspace:ā selector window.
Very unsettling. I do not keep the console window open. Not confident I changed to the correct workspace.
What board/software is controlling your machine?
why does that matter? from my understanding itās the software that does not change the G number in the upper right selector
Annoy tools brand. Came with Lunyee 3018 mill. https://a.co/d/ccf8fsj at Amazon.
In gsender console, the āheartbeatā shows the workspace was changed.
Seems like the selection list goes back to the top of the list. Somebody forgot to update the ācurrent selectionā field.
Iāve got an idea on this, @iuliancalin could you go to settings ā export settings, and send me the generated file? It would help me to better see if itās something thatās getting stuck up thatās unique about your setup
Sure will do as soon as I get there.
As promised here are my settings and if needed export of the firmware too.
gSender-firmware-settings-8_19_2024-2_58_14 PM.json (733 Bytes)
gSender-settings-8_19_2024-2_57_52 PM.json (86.1 KB)
Note, everyting else works as expected, up to the tool change wizard , i posted a question here Tool change wizard isn't working as it should? , not a big deal on this one, just a bit weird.
@iuliancalin I gave it a try and the dropdown still was able to work fine for me
Here, I re-exported your settings file. Maybe if you go to settings ā import settings and then load in this file it might help with your problem?
i have the same board at home, i tried with the settings you gave me, but it is the same effect, the selector jumps back to G54 no matter what i select in the list, it does update in the console, but i canāt have different zero coordinates on multiple workspaces
how can that be on 2 different pcās
iāll try an older version ā¦
Edit: i tried version 1.2.2 it does the same thing, workspace selector jumps to G54 no matter what. Also with the same board connected on the same port i tried candle, and it works as expected
@iuliancalin are you still experiencing this issue on the latest version of gSender, v1.4.10?
i do, itās even worse actually
i have given up on this, i did some macros to save different zeros for multiple opās
itās so weird that it does not work
also, i had 1.3.9 before, in that versions i had spindle control, i could start and stop on the bottom right controlls and also while doing a job, but with 1.4.10 itās gone, iāve looked into settings and firmware and nothing seems to have changed
i took a better look today and it was turned off in the settings after update, it works again.
now the workspace selector acts verry strange. i donāt know how to explain, but, if i select g55 and try to zero, it changes on the g54, even tho in the console it says g55 but then i change to g54 and itās not zeroed
i really donāt understand this behavior.
i tried to search for a board but nothing that i can find, any recommendations?
maybe something with usb c that works out of the box with Gsender?
