My machine has started plunging down at the start of the cut and then gouging into my stock. I’ve checked all my settings and nothing makes sense. I’m using the most recent update of Gsender with a Longmill 48x30. The machine has made several successful cuts, but now it just does this every time
Hi Rilgenfritz,
Your info is lacking some meat about your setup, so I am wildly pointing towards some pages and topics about z plunges that might or not help you out.
First something about plunges in the limit switch trouble shoot section of the manual.
Found here:
Some topics with solutions regarding plunging:
Search prompt: Plunges

Hope you find the culprit for this big problem. It’s a cripling one.
@Rilgenfritz Have you resolved your issue?
No, I have not. I still drops down below zero to travel to the start of the cut.
@Rilgenfritz I’ll leave the topic open in that case. None of the proposed solutions that @Spamming_Eddie posted has worked for you, correct?
What CAD/CAM software are you using?
Auto desk Fusion 360. No, I’ve tried using a post processor file in the community in hopes that was the solution, and checked all my heights in Fusion, but still getting the same result. The spindle drops down roughly .5 inches and travels to the start of the program, then raises up and begins cutting.
It sure sounds like the Z motor turns the wrong way because under normal circumstances it raises up (probably 0.5"), travels to the start position, drops down and starts the cut.
